A man claimed to see a puma between Moelfre and Amlwch last week. Have you seen any big cats?

..lived a few years ago lived semi wild in Pentraeth forest. It was at least of some wildcat stock - native wildcat I mean...but then it was also taking occassional food from someone and was semi tame. The gamekeeper at the big house in Pentraeth boosted of killing a wildcat one time. As for large black cats...well I don't know, but I did here that some lived over at Llandonna..but no, all that stuff about indigenous old school magic practitioners being able to shapeshift into cat form etc is 'disease' talking. Now shut up welsh and go to chapel or shop. Be normal for gods sake.

Take a piece of your own advice and
"Now shut up welsh and go to chapel or shop. Be normal for gods sake."
and whilst you're there please learn how to spell before posting on public forums

Never spotted any in Holyhead, and I lived in langefni - none there as far as I know.
Im sure the people who say they've seen them are genuine, but I rekon they are big feral cats. Easy mistake

Pentraeth forest has a black leopard - various sightings - I have first hand evidence - paw prints and consumed bait.
P.S. No such thing as black pumas!

Further to black cats seen on Anglesey, I can report at least three to four sightings in the last eighteen months close to Amlwch. The first one was seen by my husband and was reported to the police in September/October 2006. They were not at all interested. During the period of December/January 2006/2007 "strange eyes" were twice seen at night in the headlights of a keeper. He telephoned us as he knew we had seen something strange.
This morning, I saw a strange animal in the field approx 75 to 100 yards from the house. At first I thought it was a black labrador dog until I realised dogs did not move in quite the same way. (having had a dog most of my life). It was too big for a domestic cat or a feral cat, as we have quite a few wild cats around the fields here. By the time I had retrieved my binoculars, it had disappeared behind an outcrop of rock.
There must be a big cat around, but what is it? My husband believes it is a Lynx.
