Foulkes`s U-turn

Postby VictorMeldrew »

We assume that Sue Chateris`s public enquiry report is damning Foulkes`s SAR and his statement today presumably pre-empts his release of that report.
Both he and Holbrooks positions must now be untenable as they have proved to be out of touch with the views of the electorate (if they ever were in touch). Any honourable person would do the right thing and resign. Will Foulkes and Holbrook resign, no, their own self importance and arrogance will ensure they stay put at least till they get binned at the local elections.

The SAR Fiasco

Postby Hugo »

The least that should happen is the leader of the Liberals should apologise to his members who were castigated for voicing objection to the Library Closures.
As for Steve Foulkes, this bully has no credibility outside of his band of thugs, If the National Labour Pary had any sense of right from wrong they would remove his name from their membership.
Roll on the elections when we will get the chance to remove and clean out this nest of parasites from our comminities

It would seem that some Libraries that were given dates for certain closure, carried out the sensible procedures of selling off Furniture and Fittings, Books and Equipment.
Now it would seem the Council are faced with the situation of replacing the same. I do hope there will be an accurate and true record of what was sold off, to whom, and for how much, so that the public of Wirral can see everything was above board and clear. Or could this be another ham ****** waste of ratepayer assets by Foulkes and Holbrook.
What a shambles.

We now have a great opportunity on Monday evening, 6.15pm at Wallasey Clown Hall to express our utter disgust and contempt at the 2 perpetrators of Wirral Councils SAR. I would urge as many residents of Wirral to attend this meeting to put the thumb screws of Foulkes and Holbrook at the same time as letting them know there services are no longer wanted by the electorate......please folks, dont miss this opportunity to help get rid of thse two incompetent bufoons who have done so much damage to our borough.....hopefully see you there.

Well, a little disappointed at the turn out. There were about 40 members of the public in the chamber gallery and as expected the conservative motion for an appology and the resignation of Foulkes and Holbrook was defeated but never the less the justified criticisms of the lib/lab pact from the chamber were greeted with enthusiasm from the gallery and on 2 occasions shouts of out, out, out were directed at Foulkes, his party and his lap dogs, the Liberal democrats.

Dont follow the Political Party Whip

Postby Hugo »

It very much looks like the residents of Moreton will have a chance to elect a peoples representative sooner rather than later. I hope they pick a candidate who is prepared to listen to the local population and act in their best interests. Do not pick a candidate who will only follow the Political Party Whip.
Now is the time to re-establish real Democracy.

Hugo, for your information the Residents Alliance felt that it was inappropriate for an independent candidate to stand and be supported by the Alliance due to the untimely death of an existing councillor whatever their political alliance. We feel that as the people of Moreton had chosen a Conservative candidate for the term, the status quo should remain until the term expires. When the scheduled elections come around, that is when we will support independent councillors.

We have the chance next week of consigning this arrogant bully to where he belongs, so lets not miss the opportunity to get Wirral Council run by people who care about our local communities and not their own self interests.

It would appear on a National Basis the liberal party have gained some degree of recognition in there own right, will the local liberal representatives now stand on their own feet and oppose the discredited local Labour party Councillors, or are we to see another period of poodle like following the dictats of Foulkes and Co
What about a Conservative/Liberal partnership for a change, they can not do any more damage to the credibility of the Wirral Council than has already been an absolute disgrace for the residents.
I have been a Labour supporter in the past but would now rather see any other party or partnership in control

Obviously the electorate has chosen to ignore Foulkes leadership of the SAR and give him the opportunity to resurect his plans to decimate the public facilities of the Wirral.....I cant help feeling the wrong decision has been made at the local elections but hey, ho....thats democracy for you.
